Art Classes and Portraiture Commissions
Commission a Portrait
A commissioned portrait is a timeless heirloom. As a portrait artist, I can help conceived a great moment in timed help you realize your vision. The process is exciting for both the artist and sitter. A free consultation is available and can discuss any questions that you may have regarding pricing and pose!
Here are the 5 stages of a Portrait collaboration: 1) The interview: This is where all begins, finding out how I can help you, what is your vision for this portrait. 2) The sitting and photo session: This can be done from life, photographs or a combination of both 3) In the Studio: We got a great reference and agreement with client it’s time to paint and timeline. 4) The Feedback stage: It’s time to meet with client and have you see the painting, thus make final refinements with client. This can be done by sending digital images or visiting the studio. 5) The Unveiling: Set up a plan for the unveiling either in my studio or your home. This final stage we can deliver the artwork and decide where your master piece will hang! It would be my honor to collaborate with you and paint a timeless moment of your story.
Portrait Photography
Portrait photography is the art of capturing the essence of your subject within a photograph! Great portrait photography is a result of combining the right technique with an artist’s expression. As a photographer I would like to create a compelling story of your love ones and create a photographs that evokes feelings in the viewer and captivates attention. Study Plein Air Painting
Do you want to take your paintings to the next level? Studying with a professional is a great way to discover the hidden secrets of Plein Air painting. Learn how to create powerful compositions and gain knowledge on arrangement of shapes, value importance into a dynamic design! Daniel will teach you the foundation of a strong painting in a step by step process, you will also learn how to simplify your palette and how to solve complicated patterns in nature. This class is very hands-on with a lot of one on one instruction, so be ready to have fun and enjoy your fellow artist! Learn Studio Painting
The Studio class is taught in the flemish painting technique, thus focusing on the secrets of the old masters. You will learn the classic oil painting style, so beloved by Rembrandt,Ruben and Leonardo Da Vinci. Painting in the studio comes with a huge advantage as you can spend countless hours perfecting a work of art. In these classes you will learn how to gradually shape the outline of your drawing, gradually enhancing the details with thin layers of paint. You will learn Leonardo’s dark-brown outline drawing technique and the usage of earth tones to develop your painting. You will discover how to do an underpainting, thick in places, particularly in the areas of the painting that are illuminated, and completely absent elsewhere- where color of the background is left as is, so learning about impasto! In short, to make a painting harmonious, the power of overtones and complementary colors is brought to the surface. You will explore the dark-grey-ground used by Rembrandt and Ruben’s English red and umber pigments!
